Rebirth of the Great Rock

Restoration works on the zoo's Great Rock began in the past days. The reconstruction of the almost 100 years old cement concrete artificial rock is expected to be completed by September 2007.
The animals in the enclosures near the rock had to be moved because of the works. A few animals were put up in temporary facilities within the zoo, while others were temporarily moved to other institutions.
